January's crochet project were these adorable mary jane slippers. The free pattern was from Goodknits. It took me a few times making one slipper until I got the fit right. I'm a size 5.5 or 6 so I ended up taking out a few rounds in the width as well as on the top. I'm really happy with how they came out though!

I'd like to eventually add some skid-resistant liquid to the bottoms. Allison used a liquid latex and put it on the soles in a cute heart pattern. It would probably be a good idea to do that since our floors are mostly hardwood and I feel like I'm ice skating everywhere!

If you'd like to join us for February's project, which will be Valentine's day related, please stop by February 1st to see the project choices, which will be left up to you. No voting this month!

ReplyDeleteLovely mary janes!
ReplyDeleteAw... yours are so cute! I made some slippers before you posted this crochet along and found it easy to do, but frustrating to make it fit! They always come off, lol. So I didn't want to struggle with slippers again. Excited to see February's projects! :)
ReplyDeleteCute color choice!
