Seven Links

I did this last year, a wrap up of sorts, where you pick seven links from your blog to fit the category. It's not as easy as it looks! I chose posts that were written this year.  So, for 2012...

Most Beautiful
Don't regret growing older, it is a privilege denied to many.

Nothing like the fear of death to get you to appreciate a few wrinkles or grey hairs.  I don't go to church, but I saw that quote on a church sign one random day and it changed the way I think about aging forever.

Most Popular
Sites similar to Birchbox

I gathered a huge list of links to companies that deliver monthly subscription boxes. People are still commenting with suggestions to add to the list!

Most Controversial
An open letter to all the places I've ever applied to

Basically a big F-you to employers and those online application programs that have control over your future and if your resume is even seen by human eyes. It felt really good to write it.

The Ultimate Teach-Yourself-How-To-Crochet Resource List

I want people to know just how easy it is to crochet so I gathered a huge list of easy to understand YouTube videos and links to teach yourself how to crochet. A lot of these tutorials were things I used to teach myself a few months ago. And now I can't stop!

A Post Whose Success Surprised Me
Like the world needs another stupid fucking tablet

Sometimes I just really hate technology and its redundancy and how it makes people never want to interact in person. And when they are with you in person, their face is stuck on their i-whatever.

A Post I Feel Didn't Get The Attention It Deserved
I had a hard time picking this one. I don't really care either way, but I suppose for the amount of time it took to put the video together, it would be my cross country road trip video. It still received attention though so I don't know...

Post I'm Most Proud Of
Because I finally did it! My new tattoo.

This was my first fairly big tattoo and I made it through in one sitting! The design was one I had specially made with the flowers in my wedding bouquet. I surprised my husband with it too. Surprise! Look at my awesome bloody leg!

  1. This is fun, because I'm a pretty new reader here so now I get to catch up on all the highlights. I know exactly how you feel on all those job applications. Gosh, that sucks. Love the crochet resource. I could use some of those tutorials for sure. Also... awesome tattoo!!! My mom recently got a tattoo also... she's one cool lady too. :)

  2. I love this idea! I like end-of-the-year wrap ups for blogs (they're usually pretty informative, since I haven't followed any blog for an entire year) and this is a cool one where we can get to know you. :] your open letter to employers was hilarious - and, as someone desperately trying to get an internship this summer, ACCURATE. love this whole thing!

  3. Thanks for this compilation! I just started reading a couple weeks ago, so this is a good rundown of the stuff I should go back & check out. ;) Happy 2013!

  4. Oh, I love this idea! Would do it for my own, but don't think it's good enough or that I've been proactive enough with it quite yet, to warrant that detailed of a look back. LOL!
