Here's 5 pretty interesting facts that I learned about breasts that I didn't know before this week:
1. Cooper's ligaments are what gives your breasts their perkiness. It's called Cooper's droop when they sag.
2. If a female has her first baby before age 16, she has a higher chance of developing cervical cancer but a lower chance of developing breast cancer. If a female has her first baby after age 30 she has a higher chance of developing breast cancer but a lower chance of developing cervical cancer.
3. It takes 8 years for a breast cancer to grow before it can be seen on a mammogram. It takes 12 years before you can feel it. That's why you need to go yearly to get your mammograms! The sooner it's found, the better chance at survival.
4. 2000 males each year will develop breast cancer and they tend to be hard to cure because they are usually found at such a late stage.5. There are 5 locations on your body that breast implants can inserted:
-Incision around the nipple (areolar)
-Incision under the breast (inframammary)
-Incision in the armpit (axillary)
-Incision near belly button (umbilical)
-Through the vagina! What!? That's what I said! I have no idea how it's done. But apparently this is still very new. Talk about going through great lengths to avoid a scar lol!
