Spring is here! And I am inspired! I've been scouring the internet for inspiration to make my own yarn wreath and I couldn't resist going to Michael's and gathering supplies to make my own for Spring! There are so many themes you can play with, so many gorgeous ideas and colors, so many creative ways to decorate for your favorite holiday or season, that I made the bold statement to my husband "I'm going to make one for every month of the year!" He looked at me crazy like, uhhhhhh okay. But honestly, I think I found a new obsession!
And in case you were wondering if I'm always this overeager about finding a new project to work on, the answer is YES!
-I cut out all my felt pieces and glued my rosettes on their bottoms, which are super simple to make. Perhaps I'll make my own tutorial on this one day.
-Then I attached the nest with thin jewelry wire. Glue isn't strong enough
-I hot glued the floral sprig and green leaves on which happened to cover any showing wire from the nest.
-The blue eggs are just yarn wrapped in a tiny ball. Glued the eggs in. The birds clipped on the nest.
-I stuffed some brown felt into the teeny terra cotta pot to hold up the flower, then glued that on.
-Glued the rosettes on.
-Stuck some matching buttons on the bottom there with more jewelry wire. I'm sure there's a better method for doing that but it worked for me.
-Glued functional mini clothes pins to hold the embroidered Spring pennant.
-Attached a yellow ribbon for hanging and voila!

I'll break down what I did:
(not the most detailed tutorial, just a generalized list of steps)
-I wrapped a foam wreath with alternating colors first. When I wanted to change colors, I just tied the new color to the one already on the wreath so I didn't have to glue. It's all one long string and took forever (or so it seemed).(not the most detailed tutorial, just a generalized list of steps)

Oh my gosh, that is SO stinking cute! I love crafts and now I want to try making a yarn wreath, too. This is so different! And wreaths can be expensive. I would much rather spend the money to make my own! Thanks for sharing, this is just adorable.
